Byzantine Workshop of Panagia Gouverniotisa
A few years ago we introduced to the public the Byzantine Workshop of Panagia Gouverniotisa which is located to the aforementioned historic monastery.
Born in Sgourokefali, Crete in 1967. He studied freehand drawing and color in Tasos Rigas’ artistic workshop in Athens from 1984 to 1988. Parallel to his studies in Tasos Rigas’ artistic workshop, he worked as an assistant church painter with George Hohlidakis (Kontoglou’s student) in Athens.
He is a member of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts since 23/02/1999 with registration number 2992.
He has taken part in plenty of painting Byzantine Art exhibitions throughout Greece. Many of his portable hagiography, Byzantine Art icons are hosted not only in churches all over Crete and Greece but in private collections nationwide and abroad too.
